Your all-inclusive guide on Roulette payouts and bets!

Roulette became an instant hit among the casino players. It is one of the most popular games in the gambling circuit. Just like slots, poker, etc. Roulette is also a game of chance. Even though there are techniques and strategies that can help the player make the most out of the game, Roulette is dependent on odds. There are different types of bets that a player can place in this game, provided he is aware of the odds and payouts of each bet. The same goes for online Roulette as well. Players can play Roulette at an online casino and apply basic strategies and techniques to maximise their winnings. The Roulette payouts will vary based on the variation of the game the player selects to play.

Understanding outside bets and its payout options

The outside bets are placed on the perimeter of the Roulette table. They offer players with the best possibilities of payouts. Outside bets can determine an approximate of 50% of the total outcome of the game. The payout is as high as 50% or 1:1. The outside bets that may provide a slighter, better prospect of higher payouts are column and dozen bets respectively. With payouts of 2:1, the bets also offer approximately a 40% winning rate.

There are some bets present outside the Roulette board in terms of numbers and colours. If the ball falls on 0 or 00 pockets, the player loses out on his outside bet. Some information about the outside bets is listed below:

Red or Black - The player places a bet on a red coloured or black coloured number. The payout is 1:1. In the European variant, the chances of winning the game stand at 48.65% whereas, in the American variant, it is 47.37%.

Odd or Even - The bet is placed at an odd or even number. The payout is 1:1. The possibilities of winning this bet in European and American Roulette games are 48.65% and 47.37% respectively.

Low or High - The player puts the bet in low numbers ranging from 1-18 or high numbers starting from 19-36. The payout is 1:1. Just like the odd/even and red or black bets, the possibilities of winning this bet in the American and European variations are 47.37% and 48.65% respectively.

Column - The player places the bet in one of the numbers present in any of the three columns consisting of 12 numbers each. The payout is as high as 2:1. But the chances of winning this bet is 32.4% and 31.6% in European and American Roulette respectively.

Dozens - The bet is put at 12 or its dozen equivalents as there are 36 numbers in the Roulette table. The payout is 2:1 and the possibilities of winning in European and American Roulette are 32.4% and 31.6% respectively.

Understanding inside bets and its payout options

The players have the option to place inside bets. The bets refer to certain numbers or a group of numbers present inside the Roulette table. Though inside bets offer low chances of winning, the payouts are generally higher than the outside bets. However, the house edge of both bets remains the same. Below listed are some examples of inside bets.

Straight-up - Also known as a single-number bet, the player places a bet on a single number. The payout is 35:1. The chances of winning this bet in European and American Roulette games are 2.7% and 2.6% respectively.

Basket - With a payout of 6:1, the players place a bet on any number out of the five numbers- 0,00,1,2,3. The likelihood of winning the bet in American variation stands at 13.2%. This bet is not available in the European or French variant.
